“When everyone leaves you it’s loneliness you feel, when you leave everyone else it is solitude”. – Alfred Polgar
Ever listened to, Vinton Bobby’s Song “Lonely, I’m Mr. Lonely, I have nobody for my own”. It’s a beautiful song. Very depressing though… Many a time, all of us feel this way…
Recently, I came across this article which is very inspiring. This shows the way you can turn loneliness in to solitude. It goes like this…
If you have to tread the unknown, you have to go alone. If you want to be a path finder, you have to walk alone. If you choose to be a trail blazer you have to move alone. To be a rebel, a revolutionary, you have to stand alone. If you desire to be a Numero Uno, you have to run alone. If you want to reach where no one has reached, if you want to do what no one else has done, then you have to walk alone in a crowd.
As long as you need someone/something to complete you, there will be struggle. You have to rise from being dependent to becoming dependable.
First step is acceptance. Accept the reality. Whether you like it or not, the facts don’t change.
Second step is to practice conscious aloneness. Learn to be with yourself, just yourself. Listen to music. Gaze the stars. Practice activities where reciprocation from other end is not possible.
Third step is going into relationships looking at what you can give and not what you receive. One relationship at a time, build a small world around you that feels complete with your presence.
If you practice these, you have nothing else to attain.
Everybody needs the Sun but Sun needs none.
Well, this is a nice read…. But can it be done as easily as it is said? Wouldn’t know until we try…..
